Sunshine Coast Artificial Insemination station

Artificial insemination is fast becoming the preferred method of breeding for performance sport horses for so many reasons. One very important reason is that it reduces the risk of injury to mares and stallions.






1. After arrival the mare can be used to tease the stallion in front of the teasing area (A) 2. The mare (when in season) will be taken to the middle area of the station and washed and prepared. (D) 3. The mare is then moved into the crush (E). There is plenty of room next to the crush in case a foal is with the mare. 4. At the same time the stallion or visiting outside stallions are washed at the washing bay (B) 5. Then the stallion is moved through the separate stallion paddock to the stallion area (C) 6. In good view and smell of the mare, the stallion is led to the prepared mount (F) 7. The mount is a top of the range latest design with internal vagina (G), which makes the the whole process safe and easy. 8. After ejaculation, the stallion is lead away to the stallion paddock, or in the case of our own stallion back to the stables. 9. The A.V. Is removed from the mount, and the semen is evaluated and prepared in the lab (H) 10. The mare is then inseminated and then released from the crush (E). 11. The mare is walked for ten minutes in the walking area (G) to avoid expulsion of semen. 12. When the semen is transported (nation wide) it is extended, chilled, packed (K) and transported.

	The mount is covered with a removable cow hide, which will be regular cleaned and is there to protect the mount and your stallion.	The mount is equipped with a removable internal soft vagina which is warmed and safe and comfortable for the stallion

	The complete internal cylinder can be removed and is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after and before use.	A semen report can be prepared to evaluate samples.

	The position of the vagina is so natural, that in most cases the penis has no problem in entering.

	The mount is adjustable to the height of the stallion and also designed to simulate the natural position of the mare.

	The whole collection procedure can be done in full view and smell of the mare to the stallion, without the risk of getting together due to a heavy barred division wall.
